Gift Cards

Paradise Rotary Awards Mini Grant to Paradise Elementary School Kindergarten Classes

Over 100 Paradise Elementary Kindergarten students and their teachers gathered last Friday to receive a grant from the Rotary Club of Paradise and the Paradise Rotary Foundation for their Classrooms. Making the presentation were Paradise Foundation Board Members Trudi Angel and Larry Hartt along with fellow Rotarian Robert DiPietro. Shown with the four Kindergarten teachers at Paradise Elementary Mrs. Levin, Mrs. Gonzales, Mrs. Fanning, Mr. Caldwell, and Mrs. Holzwarth and their Principal Debbi Davis.

The $1200.00 grant is a part of an annual grant that focuses on a different elementary grade each year starting in 2012 with the 5ht grade and now Kindergarten. In all the 6 year program has provided over $24,000 for Paradise classrooms. Funds for the grants are raised through generous donations from Rotarian’s and community members along with various fund raising events such as the Fabulous Rotary Crabfeed held in February at the Paradise Veterans hall and Wings and Wheels held in September at the Paradise Airport.

Teachers Association of Paradise Recognizes Paradise Rotary Club’s Commitment to Education

Paradise Rotary Club President Lauren Gill and Past President Dana Gajda shown here with a plaque from the Teachers Association of Paradise(TAP). It thanks our Club for the Annual Mini-Grants and funding the creation of the Rotary Ponderosa Elementary STEAM lab. The plaque was presented by Amy Keene, Kindergarten teacher at Paradise Elementary School. Amy and her fellow teacher Zina Bonham had just received a check from the Club’s Foundation for $1200 as a mini grant for their classrooms. President Lauren bestowed the plaque to Dana G., since the STEAM Lab project came to fruition during her year as Club President.

Paradise Rotary donates thousands each year to our community and world through fundraisers like this. This year we donated $25,000 to the Gold Nugget Museum to enhance the newly named Yellowstone Kelly Historic Trailway. This just one of the numerous projects the club has partnered with the Museum to accomplish over the years including the restoration of the Caboose at the Historic Train Depot.

Come and enjoy the fun and fellowship on Feb 3rd while helping our community be a better place to live.

Paradise Rotary Carolers at Sunshine Manor

Paradise Rotary Club members, family and friends singing Christmas Carols to the residents of the Sunshine Manor homes last Thursday evening. The club has caroled at each of the three assisted living homes since Christmas 2012. This was the biggest group of carolers yet. Tom Baker, the club’s President Elect Nominee and Clay Reid played guitar while the carolers sang an assortment of Christmas classics. Paradise Rotary “Service above Self” serving our community and world since 1946.

Paradise Rotary has two fun Christmas events coming up next week.

First we will be caroling at Sunshine Manor Assisted Living on 21 December, 6 pm. There are 3 buildings and we will start at Sunshine Manor, 1456 Sun Manor,Paradise, (530) 877-4463 then on to Sunshine Cottage and Sunshine House. We will have song books so come out and share your Christmas cheer.
Second we will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Ace Hardware, Saturday, 23 December, 10am to 6pm. The Salvation Army does so much for our community all year long but especially at Christmas. Stop by Ace Hardware on Saturday and drop your donation in our bucket to help the less fortunate in our community.

Paradise Rotary Foundation Contributes To PRPD for Scholorhips

The Paradise Rotary Foundation awards five hundred dollars to Paradise Recreation and Parks District.Shown here Lauren Gill, Paradise Rotary President and Dean Fender, President of the Paradise Rotary Foundation Board presented the check to Dan Efseaff, the District Manager for the Paradise Recreation and Parks District (PRPD) at a recent meeting of the Paradise Rotary Club. The money will provide scholarships to youth in the area who cannot afford the fees to participate in some activities in the district.

The Paradise Rotary Foundation is the non profit arm of the Paradise Rotary Club. The club and foundation in recent years usually donates over thirty five thousand dollars per year and countless hours of service to the community. The seventy plus member club provides service to both our local community and world through “Service Above Self” and meets every Thursday noon at the Lutheran Church on Skyway just above Terry Ashe Park.

Paradise Recreation and Park District District Manager Joins Rotary

Paradise Rotary Club President Lauren Gill welcomes Dan Efseaff, the new District Manager for the Paradise Recreation and Parks District (PRPD) into the club. Shown here with Club President Lauren and sponsor Mary Bellefeuille, Dan and his wife have 4 daughters and live in Chico. The Paradise Rotary Club has partnered with PRPD on numerous projects in the past such as, Bille Park Playground Equipment upgrade in 2012 and Ice Skating Rink infrastructure installation in 2013 along with the Rotary Grove at the Duck Pond several years ago.
